WHAT IS MUSIC THERAPY?

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS AND CARE TAKERS:

“Over the past year, I have seen more vocalizations and attempts to say words from having my son in music therapy. His attention has also increased and he is constantly asking for us to do songs together. Down by the Bay is now a family favorite and we make up what my mother will say.”

“I like music therapy because I love singing and dancing and doing emotions with Sarah.”

“For my boys, they are able to learn numbers, colors, differentiating between who, where and what, ect. It’s a smooth fun way to teach without feeling the pressure and making them anxious.”

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Sessions are typically 45-55 minutes depending on the age and interest of the individual.

HOW OLD DO CLIENTS NEED TO BE?

Any age! Sarah has worked with clients as young as 12 months.

DO I NEED MY OWN INSTRUMENTS?

No! If there is an instrument you really want to bring to a session, you are more than welcome to do so. But Sarah will have instruments each session.

HOW ARE INSTRUMENTS CLEANED?

Instruments are cleaned with sanitizing wipes after each session.

DO PARENTS STAY IN THE ROOM WITH CHILDREN?

This is up to the parent and client. If a child is under 2, the child usually wants the parent to stay or be nearby. Sarah only requires a parent to stay if assistance is typically needed with the child but otherwise this is a decision made by the parent.
